We are excited to share that the ENTRACK project was showcased, on June 15th, 2024, at the eceee 2024 Summer Study on energy efficiency. Our IEECP partners and in particular Giulia Viero (energy and climate expert), participated in the event and presented the project’s objectives and the preparatory work done so far, such as the project taxonomy of energy plans, strategies and policies as well as the interviews strategy and questionnaire that our pilot partners are performing.
The presentation took place during the last time slot of the event on Friday, June 15th. The session was a meaningful step in spreading the word about our efforts to co-design sustainable and just energy plans.
Key Insights and Feedback:
- The concept of “Climate Explorers” and “MRP” (Municipality-Regions Partnerships) resonated well, highlighting the importance of using intermediaries to foster bottom-up communication from citizens.
- Feedback emphasized that traditional marketing techniques might not effectively reach rural communities. Tailored strategies that consider the unique dynamics and build trust within each community are crucial.
- Discussions underscored the importance of working with trusted local organizations, especially when engaging vulnerable groups such as refugees. This aligns with our strategy to engage communities through reliable and familiar channels.
- The involvement of private companies in sustainability dialogues can drive substantial change, particularly through the supply chain’s push for higher sustainability standards.
We also had the chance to connect with relevant experts, who shared additional resources on participatory approaches. These interactions have enriched our understanding and will guide the project’s future directions.
We appreciate the constructive feedback and are enthusiastic about incorporating these insights as we move forward. The eceee 2024 Summer Study has been a fruitful venue for learning and networking, reinforcing the ENTRACK project’s commitment to fostering sustainable energy solutions in rural communities.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to drive the project towards impactful outcomes.
