On June 26, 2024, João Pedro Gouveia, invited speaker at the “Jornadas Internacionales – Retos de la Vivienda en el S. XXI,” shared his expertise at the Instituto de Ciencias de la Construcción in Madrid. The event focused on the technical and social challenges related to climate emergencies and energy vulnerability.
In his presentation, Gouveia explored the topic “Assessing Buildings Energy Efficiency and Vulnerability at Multiple Scales,” emphasizing the importance of both research and on-the-ground action in addressing energy efficiency challenges in the context of climate change. His insights offered a multidisciplinary approach to tackling the vulnerabilities of buildings, particularly in the face of an ever-growing climate crisis.
The workshop gathered experts from various fields to discuss how to better equip communities and policymakers with the tools and knowledge necessary to address energy poverty and enhance building resilience in the 21st century.
